The Biology Bachelor of Science in Biology Teaching degree is a four year program consisting of 132 credit hours and is awarded by Purdue University.

If you are interested in teaching biology, there are grant funds that may pay for your studies at IUPUI.  

Requirements & Course of Study

Requirements vary depending on a student's date of enrollment.  Details of all undergraduate degree requirements can be found in the IUPUI bulletin. Please visit your biology advisor to learn about your degree options.

Capstone experience

Students apply what they’ve learned in a capstone experience, which is an independent, creative effort by the student that is integrative and builds on the student’s previous work in the major; it may include research projects, independent study and projects, a practicum, a seminar, and/or a field experience.
