Undergraduate Scholarships
In addition to admission-based scholarships, scholarships are available to support research, diversity, community service, and international study for IUPUI students.

The Robert Noyce Teach Science Scholarship encourages talented STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) undergraduate students at IUPUI to enter the challenging and rewarding profession of middle school or high school science teaching in high need schools. Recipients of the Teach Science Noyce Scholarship at IUPUI are eligible to receive both monetary and professional support to complete their teaching certification and baccalaureate degree in Biology, Chemistry, Geology, or Physics simultaneously.

Award Amount: Up to $12,500/year
Application Deadline:- March 15 for scholarships beginning the following FALL semester.
- October 15 for scholarships beginning the following SPRING semester.
- Student must also make an application to the T2T Program by February 7 of their senior year.
- Complete and submit the IUPUI Continuing Student Scholarships Application by the due dates. IUPUI Scholarship application can be downloaded from: http://www.iupui.edu/~scentral/continuing/majorspecific.html.
- Submit two letters of recommendation: one from a Science professor and the other from an Education professor or an academic advisor.
- Write an essay responding to the question: What experience(s) has motivated you to pursue a career teaching science in a high-need school?
STEM Education Research Experience
The Urban Center for the Advancement of STEM Education (UCASE) is offering three promising undergraduate, STEM or STEM Education majors an opportunity to participate in the STEM Education Research Experience. This experience is designed to encourage students with an interest in STEM or STEM education to develop inquisitive and critical perspectives on urban education. It also provides opportunities for students to learn more about the theories, methods, and findings of STEM educational research.Award Amount: $3,000 per year
Application Deadline: December 14Math and Science Education Scholarships
The Math and Science Education Scholarship (MSES) Program offered by the Urban Center for the Advancement of Math/Science Education (UCASE), is designed to encourage and to support outstanding IUPUI current or transfer students who have had a strong math or science based major and who wish to pursue a career in math or science teaching at the middle and/or high school level.Award Amount: $2,500 per year and annually renewable

21st Century Scholars Grant
This grant is designed to help meet the remaining financial need for 21st Century Scholars who enroll full time at IUPUI. To be eligible students must be participating and receiving 21st Century Scholarship funds from the state of Indiana and have a FAFSA on file by the priority deadline of March 10, 2012. Those students who meet eligibility will automatically be given this award as it requires no additional application, however grant recipients must attend the IUPUI Summer Bridge Academy and meet Satisfactory Academic Progress Guidelines.
Award Amount: Award amounts vary, but approximate average amount is $2,500. The maximum annual IUPUI 21st Century Scholars Grant amount is $3,000.
Bepko Scholars and Fellows Program
The Bepko Scholars and Fellows Program is designed for students who demonstrate integrity, dedication, leadership, and a commitment to service. This highly competitive scholarship program provides financial, academic, and programming support to academically motivated and civically engaged students throughout their undergraduate and post-graduate years.
Award Amount: Students selected for this scholarship program receive undergraduate tuition (up to the Indiana resident rate), fees, a $2,500 study abroad stipend, and books for four years of study. Bepko Scholars also receive two years of on-campus housing and are required to live in Honors House, located in the Campus Apartments on the Riverwalk, their freshman year. Bepko Scholars who attend IUPUI for graduate or professional study receive $5,000 per year for four years and are named Bepko Fellows.

Diversity Scholars Research Program
Based on academic performance, this highly competitive program provides scholarship funding and research activities primarily for recruited minority students. The scholarship provides financial support for payment of tuition, mandatory course fees, and a stipend for books and supplies each year. Based on each individual’s needs, the program director selects IUPUI faculty members and other professionals to act as student research mentors. Scholars must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA each semester and meet other program requirements to remain eligible for scholarship funding.

Herbert Presidential Scholarship
The Indiana University System offers Adam W. Herbert Presidential Scholarships to outstanding Indiana seniors with extensive leadership experience. This highly competitive scholarship program is designed to further develop scholars' leadership abilities by providing excellent academic and co-curricular opportunities.
Award Amount: $9,000 per year for four years of study, a laptop, $2,500 for a study abroad experience, and a $1,500 housing stipend for on-campus housing their freshman year.

Plater International Scholars Program
The Plater International Scholars Program is designed for incoming freshmen who are committed to combining academic excellence with global citizenship. This highly competitive scholarship program is for students with an interest in international affairs and cross-cultural experiences.
Plater International Scholars will be actively involved in international programming, both on and off campus. In close cooperation with the Office of International Affairs, recipients of the Plater International Scholarship will be exposed to high profile international visitors, international seminars, and lectures.
Award Amount: $8,000 per year for four years of study, $2,500 for a study abroad experience, and a $2,500 housing stipend for International House, located in the Campus Apartments on the Riverwalk, for their freshman year.

Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP)
The Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program offers undergraduate research project and travel grants and conference travel funds to support and encourage undergraduates who participate in research and other creative projects with faculty in all disciplines, including music and art. Barnwell Memorial Scholarship
The Dr. John D. Barnwell Memorial Scholarship is to be awarded to a continuing science major (following the Spring 2013 semester) in the School of Science who has effectively integrated the sciences and the arts into his or her undergraduate career, going beyond the minimal requirements of science majors for courses in the arts and humanities. The nominee may be pursuing a double major in science and arts and humanities, or pursuing a minor in the arts and humanities. Or, he or she could be involved in the arts and humanities in other ways. For example, having art as a hobby or playing in an orchestra, or just being a patron of the arts.
Furthermore, the nominee should reflect the character and values that Dr. John Barnwell represented and encouraged. These are: high personal standards of ethics and scholarship, respect for the principles of friendship, and a deep appreciation for the importance of process in the conduct of one’s life. That is, how does the nominee handle life? What set of life affirming and honest values does he or she possess which overcome the circumstances of his or her life, making it productive, satisfying and inspirational to others?
Award Amount: Up to $500

Dean of Science Scholarship (For Continuing Students)
The Dean of Science Scholarship is designed for students majoring in the School of Science. Continuing science majors with a minimum of 25 credit hours completed at IUPUI by the end of the spring semester during which application is being made and at least a 3.5 GPA may apply for this competitive scholarship. Contingent upon availability of funds, a Dean of Science Scholar may be supported for additional years provided that the student has eligible unspent funds, continues in a degree program in the School of Science, and maintains an overall GPA of at least 3.5. An award recipient may hold only one scholarship funded by the School of Science.
Award Amount: Up to $2,000 per academic year

D. J. Angus Scientech Educational Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate science major who graduated from a high school in Marion county or one of the contiguous counties, who demonstrates financial need, a minimum grade point average of 2.80, and shows future promise. Applicants must have completed at least 25 credit hours of course work at IUPUI by the time of application.

Health & Life Science Scholarship (for first-year students)
The Health & Life Science Scholars Program is designed for beginning freshmen in the health and life science majors. Contingent upon availability of funds, a Health and Life Science Scholar who is a beginning major may supported up to eight regular (fall/spring) semesters provided that the student continues in a degree program in a health or life science and maintains an overall minimum GPA of 3.5. An applicant must be in the top 25% of their high school graduating class and have a minimum SAT score of 1200 or ACT score of 26. An award recipient may hold only one scholarship funded by the School of Science.
Award Amount: Up to $2,000 in-state/$4,000 out-of-state per year, renewable for four years

Health & Life Science Scholarship (for continuing students)
The Health & Life Science Scholars Program is designed for students majoring in the health and life sciences. Lambertus Scholarship
It is the intent of the Donors that the scholarship be given to an undergraduate student(s) who is pursuing a degree in the School of Science, who has demonstrated progress and significant improvement in his/her academic program, and who is a working student or who otherwise demonstrates financial need. Preference will be given to a student(s) who is from central Indiana and to a student(s) who demonstrates civic engagement. One letter of recommendation from a School of Science faculty member is required.
Award Amount: Up to $2500 non-renewable

Life-Health Sciences Internships
Life-Health Sciences Internships connect IUPUI life and health sciences undergraduates with research and professional experience internships on and near the IUPUI campus. This program helps students to explore their career objectives and future career pathways while also fostering valuable professional connections between students and faculty and staff. The students belong to a community of interns and mentors who support one another throughout the internship experience and beyond. Internships run from the end of August to the beginning of May. Positions pay $10 per hour for up to 10 hours per week (15 weeks per semester for two semesters). Learn more and apply.
Math and Science Teaching Scholarships

Pre-Med Club IUPUI Academic Scholarship
The Pre-Med Club of IUPUI has established a scholarship program designed in part to support tuition and books for undergraduate students with intentions of pursuing medical school. Based on availability of funds, this scholarship will be awarded once a year in the Fall semester. This scholarship recognizes an outstanding student who will be a junior, or first semester senior during the time the scholarship is awarded. Applications will be reviewed and the awardee selected by the Executive Board of the Pre-Med Club IUPUI.

School of Science Alumni Association Academic Achievement Scholarship
The School of Science Alumni Association Academic Achievement Scholarship is to be awarded to a continuing undergraduate science major with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.75 on 4.00 scale. Preference will be given to those who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and service to the school. The number, amount, and recipient(s) of the scholarship will be determined by the Scholarship Committee of the School of Science Alumni Association.

These scholarships are awarded to School of Science majors selected to live in the Women in Science residential learning community. Selection is based on academic achievement and educational and career goals.

Science Ambassador Leadership Scholarship
The Science Ambassador Leadership Team, a group of 8 students, provides leadership to the Science Ambassador program and support the overall undergraduate recruitment efforts.

T2T Noyce Scholarship
The Secondary Transition to Teaching Program (T2T) at IUPUI is a 12-month pathway to teacher licensing at the graduate level that prepares middles school and high school teachers. The T2T Noyce Scholarship is available to those who will teach science or mathematics in high-need schools.
Award Amount: $12,000 stipends to bachelor degree holders who had a major or adequate content course work preparation in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth Science (Geology), Mathematics, Engineering or Technology and plan to become certified science and mathematics teachers in the secondary education (grades 6-12)

International Student Scholarships
IUPUI offers many scholarship opportunities for international students!
- All scholarships require full-time enrollment (12 credit hours or more per semester) in the fall and spring semesters.
- If you take the SAT or ACT examination more than once, the highest scores will be used for scholarship consideration.
- Funds provided by these scholarships do not cover intensive English as a Second Language study.
