Position Summary: The Department of Biology (biology.iupui.edu) at Indiana University - Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) invites applications for a lecturer position to begin August 1, 2019. This is a full-time, 10-month, non-tenure eligible position. Responsibilities may include teaching in Biology of Women, Physiology, Anatomy, and possibly other introductory biology lectures, online and in-person lab courses for non-science majors. Teaching load is typically 11-12 credit hours each semester. Summer teaching opportunities are available for additional compensation. Successful candidates will have a record of quality teaching and interest to work with a diverse student population. Applicants should submit one PDF file with a cover letter, CV, and a statement of teaching interests, experience and philosophy. A list with names and addresses of references is required. Basic Qualifications:

A PhD or MS in biology or a relevant health related discipline is required. Candidates with experience teaching anatomy and physiology courses is required.

Position Title: Financial Specialist
Job Summary: Manage fiscal and administrative affairs in support of faculty research and post-award management. Serve as compliance agent for grants and departmental accounts, liaison to School of Science Dean's Office and Office of Research Administration and with KFS, FMS, and Contracts and Grants Administration. Assist Biology faculty on grant compliance with progress reports and amendments, grant routing approvals and proposal entry. Monitor account spending and support the management of department budgets while resolving day-to-day service requests for department members. Serve as account manager for department accounts; process reimbursements.
Required Qualifications:

REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree and two years of experience.

Excellent interpersonal skills and a customer service orientation. Ability to effectively communicate and exchange information with a wide variety of individuals within a diverse environment. Strong organizational and multitasking skills including the ability to manage multiple priorities. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

Business and/or Accounting experience

Working Conditions / Physical Demands:

Extended periods of sitting, ability to lift 10 pounds.
